Report improvements

Each month, we reach thousands of users with our reports (one-off or subscriptions). This indicates reports are not just an important feature that adds value to customers, it is also a great way to reach them. Therefore, we are working hard on improving the reporting features. Currently, we are creating a new type of report and we are improving the existing reports. New versions will be implemented gradually in the coming releases. 

These are the latest improvements:

  • Event section with a split by event-category
  • An 'About this report' section explaining how to navigate through the report

Default notification groups for recommendations

Recommendations are an important USP of our connectivity solution. In order to increase awareness among our customers - and enable more business - we are now creating notification groups by default. This means that machines with a paid license will automatically receive a notification by mail if a recommendation is triggered. Neither customers nor admins have to set up notification groups manually. If changes are required according to the preference of the user, this can be done by editing the notification settings in SMARTLINK/ICONS. 

Auto-commission for distributors

Whenever a machine connects to the cloud and needs to be commissioned, we previously skipped indirect equipment. This was recently improved by making it optional to add distributor machines automatically to the distributor's SoldTo equivalent in SMARTLINK. However, this was no guarantee that auto-commissioned machines ended up within the scope of distributors. It was still required for internal admins to move the equipment to the appropriate site below the distributor. 

With the latest improvement, we are able to automatically create an organization within the scope of the distributor and to create the distributor itself if it was not created before. We will link the customer and distributor equipment numbers to make the mapping. This site will serve as a location where all your distributor's unassigned machines are grouped. Your distributor just must move the new units to the right customer site.

Identification by communication token + serial number

Data coming in from upload devices were mapped to machines based on the serial number. However, there are scenarios where this mapping is not correct. When re-using a SMARTBOX for another machine, the data of the previous machine was being linked to the new machine. From now on, machine data will not be mapped based on the serial number alone, Instead, we will identify data by the unique combination of the communication token and serial number.

Quotes to C4C: store data

Since we are sending quotes to C4C, this data is not directly available to the connectivity team. We have to get this data from the Lead Database, something we do not have direct access to ourselves. In order to make getting this data easier for us, we will store it ourselves too. Storing this data is primarily used for debugging, troubleshooting, ad hoc marketing performance analysis, and reporting.

Sales hierarchy scope for admin-pages

The Sales Group feature enables sales reps to zone in on their scope. Only the accounts belonging to their scope should become visible but this did not apply to all admin pages yet. From now on, if a specific sales group is selected as scope, this will filter the information on all pages.
