Recommendation improvements

Recommendations have a major potential in adding value to our customers. Users previously had to press a like-button if we wanted to capture them as leads. However, this was not always clear to everyone. On top of that, the recommendations consisted of rather short texts that revealed little about potential risks or opportunities. Based on this feedback, we have released several improvements.

  • A call to action button was added to the recommendation widget in your dashboard
  • A new page now gives you a detailed overview of each recommendation. 
  • An impact score indicates the operational and business value of the recommendation
  • In an additional section (Next steps), users are informed what to expect when they proceed. 
  • The like button was replaced by a clear call-to-action button (take action). When clicked, a dialog confirms that they will be contacted by a specialist. 

Health improvements

Machine health indicators are important components in predicting failure. However, we had previously only released the beta version. Several improvements were still required to make this feature more robust. With the following improvements, customers can truly experience the added value of our health score:

  • The different tabs on the health page were removed. Now, there is just one health overview.
  • A 'calculated at' timestamp was added to the health widget in your dashboard. This makes it clear to customers when the last health score was calculated.
  • The health feature is now license-dependent. At least one machine needs to be equipped with a license. Else, the widget will show a call to action aiming at upgrading the license. For internal people, the feature is always visible.
  • From now on, there is one single logic for the internal and external health score. We will not make a distinction anymore to the score internal people see on the one hand, and what external users see on the other.
  • The details page with the health checks is now hidden to external users. These details are only available to internal users in order to help customers with a remote health assessment. Also, if one of the health checks on this page is not available, it will remain hidden.
  • Next to the existing health categories running conditions and maintenance, a third category was added: machine conditions.
  • Health scores are now based on an improved logic. Each health check has a certain weight assigned to it. Hence, not passing a health check with a high impact will have a stronger negative effect on the final score than failing a check with a low impact.
  • In case we miss data to calculate the score of a health category, the indicator will remain hidden. For example, if we are not able to calculate the health score for running conditions, this category will be hidden.
  • Attention notes were added to the health widget to highlight important information the health score does not reveal. For example, that one specific machine is in shutdown while the total site health score is positive on average.

Energy efficiency benchmarks improved

  • The reporting period in the energy efficiency widget (dashboard) has changed to seven days, one month, and three months.
  • The Specific Energy Requirement (SER) threshold values are no longer based on fixed daily values. Instead, threshold values will be generated per Airnet/site based on an improved formula.
  • In the case of multiple Airnet units on the same site, we will only show the SER and benchmark for the separate units in the widget (not for all like we used to).
  • For key account customers, we previously showed one overall benchmark (like a regular customer) with the actual threshold values. However, the improved energy efficiency widget for key account customers will only show how may sites fall in the category optimal, good, or bad.

Improved UX when moving a user

Whenever you change the organization of a user, the user will now be informed if they will lose their current subscriptions to reports and notification groups. If the user decides to continue, they will be removed from their subscription groups accordingly.

ERP sync improved (machines)

Whenever new information in the machine details are saved, SMARTLINK synchronizes the latest machine data with SAP (e.g., machine status and contract).

Default report sections hidden

Previously, we greyed out the sections from your report that cannot be changed. In order to avoid confusion, report sections that cannot be changed will remain hidden.


SMS notifications translated

It was not yet possible to translate the SMS notifications. This caused several communication issues in some countries. From now on, the SMS notifications can be translated like the other resources in the SMARTLINK portal.

Operational state for remote sensor and digital input machines

The calculation of operational states now also supports remote sensors and digital input machines.

Automatic registration functionality disabled

It was previously possible to enable the automatic registration of customers. If selected, users could get access to SMARTLINK without verification (as long as they entered a valid serial number). From now on, this feature will not be available anymore.

UX improvement notification groups

When setting up a notification group, all days are now selected by default.

Improved energy overview for key accounts (global customers)

In the energy overview for global customers, a column was added with the average pressure of the machines per customer and per site.

Support change from Not Connected to Connected

When connecting a machine that was previously not equipped with a communication device (not connected), SMARTLINK will now automatically adjust the machine's settings. This means the settings of the Not Connected machine will be updated accordingly, allowing it to communicate with SMARTLINK.
