Machine with SMARTBOX is indicating 'no upload device'. Why?

What is a machine without an upload device? (not connected machine)

Our connectivity solution has more to offer than just compressor monitoring. It is a smarter way to manage your assets. As such, you can also add machines not equipped with an upload device. These devices are not connected to the cloud and are therefore considered not connected. You can also recognize these machines on the website because the connectivity info in the machine overview indicates there is no upload device.

Why is my machine registered as a not connected device if it has a SMARTBOX?

Machines have to be connected to the cloud in order to be registered and considered connected. This is an automated process triggered when a machine is commissioned.
In some cases, a machine that was previously connected to the cloud, gets removed from the system. For example, a scrapped machine that was removed automatically or a machine that was removed manually by an admin. As a result, the machine is not connected or registered anymore. In this situation, you can only add such equipment as not connected machines until you have reconnected the SMARTBOX to the cloud. If you decide to proceed with adding the machine as not connected, the website will indicate there is no upload device.

How to solve it

Remove the not connected machine first. Once the machine is removed, reconnect to the cloud by rebooting the upload device. The reboot of the upload device will trigger the automated commissioning flow. Your machine will register automatically.
