How to Resolve a Duplicated Serial Number

Step 1

Go to the Duplicate S/N overview and search for the duplicated serial number.

Step 2

Open the action menu by clicking on the three dots and select REVIEW.

Step 3

Select the correct unit by clicking on CHOOSE.

Step 4

Choose which action you prefer regarding the incorrect unit(s).

Options:

Change S/N:

This is not the desired option. Only select this when both machines are considered critical. If you really wish to change the serial number, this needs to be done locally in the controller.

Note: The S/N is managed by the controllers, this means even if you change this temporally with this option, it will always be overridden by a new commissioning message sent by the upload device. This message is sent:

  • For Smartbox: on Reboot
  • For ES/Optimizer: After uploading a new Wiziar file

To fix the issue, you need to fix the issue in the controller

Archive:

This option will archive the machine allowing the system to create a new machine if the upload device is still communicating. The machine history will be removed. If the S/N  is fixed and the machine is connected with the same upload device, you will find the new machine in the system.

Remove:

Removing the machine will not allow creating a new machine if te upload device is still used, but will remain hidden. This option must be used when the machine is scrapped for example.

Note: The archive option has been removed. Please ignore it.

The system will try to recommissioning the chosen machine to for example get the linked license, register it based on SAP data etc

You can check the status of this process following these steps:

Step 5

Step 6

In case, you want to re-run the commissioning process, you can click on the three dots and select Reset and Rerun.
